Beaumaris Rowing Club made a strong start to the 2022 racing season on Saturday, despite the usual winter storm season getting in the way of training over the last couple of months.
Competing against 17 crews from all over Wales plus the home team in The Montford Challenge, a gruelling 14 mile two stage time trial on the River Severn organised by Shropshire Adventure Rowing Club.
Supervets won their category and carried the trophy home for the fourth time in a row, finishing in 2 hours 30 mins and 6 seconds.Womens crew – with two people racing for the first time came in a very impressive 2 hours and 59 minutes.Vets got the fastest time for stage 1, but came in second overall, loosing out to Aberystwyth by just 30 seconds, finishing in 2 hours 18 minutes and 40 seconds.
