  • The sessions hosted by RYA Registered Senior Instructors
  • Beginners will tackle stages 1 and 2 of the RYA sylabus
  • Intermediates will tackle stages 3 and 4 of the RYA sylabus
  • Develop on-the-water skills and seamanship over the course of the sessions.
  • Boats used will be RS Fevas
  • As well as teaching the basics of sailing, the sessions are designed to be fun, build confidence and respect for the water and the environment around us.
  • We will run a session even if the weather is too bad to go on the water, you will be notified by email in advance and a theory session will be held at the RAYC club house, 6-7 Green Edge, Beaumaris.
  • Children will be expected to be on time, help rig launch recover and put boats away before going home, they will also be required to pay attention and want to learn.  We reserve the right to exclude any child who misbehaves as this disrupts the rest of the group and can be dangerous.
  • Meet at 5:45 at the entrance to the Dinghy Park on the Green in Beaumaris – just outside the RNLI Lifeboat station

Book Now
To book a place please email me back directly with the completed joining form and medical form which are attached to this email, these can be completed scanned and sent back, but do need a signature please, I will also need a GDPR consent form, this allows me to hold your information for the purposes of these lessons and allows us to be able to take pictures of the children sailing, that we can then share on the closed facebook group for the RAYC, so you can see them.  I can’t confirm your child’s place on the course until payment has been received.

Cost
Junior Membership is £25 for the year, and £68 for a series of 8 lessons (£8.50 per session).
Membership covers full insurance, safety cover and full use of club facilities.
The junior membership fee shall be waived if a parent is already a member of the RAYC.
Please pay directly to: RAYC Training, 88639665, 54-10-01 and use your child’s name as a reference

Equipment needed
All children will need a long wet suit, wet suit shoes or boots (trainers will also work) socks and a correctly fitted buoyancy aid. Helmets and cags are optional but advised.  We have a very limited number of buoyancy aids and helmets available for children to borrow if you do not have one, I also have some wet suits in various sizes so please ask well ahead if you need one as they will need trying on before the sessions.  Please let me know at time of booking.
Regards
Stevie.
