Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions

1. RULES
1.1 The racing will be governed by the rules as defined in The Virtual Regatta Rules of Sailing, dated 22nd January 2019
1.2 Rule infringements will be decided by the Virtual Regatta system and its decisions are final and are not appealable.
2. ENTRY
2.1 Entry is open to all RAYC members and invited guests only.
3. FORMAT OF RACING
3.1 Each race will have a maximum number of 20 entries
3.2 Entries will be on a first come first served basis.
3.3 The race code to enter for all races will be: – rayc (lowercase).
3.4 The first race will be set at 1500hrs prompt and the warning signal will be sounded at 1505hrs, the next race will be set as soon as the last boat crosses the line. We will have a total of 5 races.
3.5 If a race is full, then please spectate by using the race ID of RAYC Regatta, this will also indicate when the next race is will start.
4. SCHEDULE
4.1 All racing will be completed on the 14th June 2020.
5. EQUIPMENT
5.1 The equipment to be sailed will be the J70, and spinnakers are allowed.
6. COURSE
6.1 The course will be “Upwind Medium” – a windward/leeward course with an offset mark and a downwind finish consisting of Two laps.
7. SCORING
7.1 The Low Points Scoring System of RRS Appendix A will apply.
7.2 5 races are required to be completed with 1 discard.
7.3 Ties will be broken in accordance with RRS A8.
7.4 If you are thrown out of a race due to losing Race Connection no redress is granted and you will be scored DNF.
7.5 The races will be scored and posted on the RAYC Website and Facebook page, once they have been compiled
