When? – Monday 12th March at 19.30 hrs (Bar opens at 19.00 hrs)

Where? – RAYC Clubhouse – Main Bar

You can expect to learn;

  • How to select and use your lifejacket or buoyancy aid.
  • Hoe to maintain lifejackets and buoyancy aids.
  • How best to react in the event of a MOB situation.

We are fortunate to welcome to our club, Alice Beetleston of the RNLI Community Safety Team in Wales together with Danielle Barnard, Community Safety Officer at Beaumaris Lifeboat.

They will give us the benefit of RNLI experience on these vital issues to help keep rowers safer on the water.  Their presentation will last about an hour and a half.  It will include time for questions and demonstrations on lifejacket maintenance to help you decide when / if parts should be replaced or when it has reached the end of its lifespan and needs replacing.

They will also advise on the crew’s response to a MOB incident including situations when its best to alert the emergency services.

This event has been organised by Beaumaris Rowing club and whilst the talks will be rowing biased, all members of the club are welcome as many parts will be applicable to both rowing and sailing.
